Trachelospermum will become the star of your garden, with highly scented blooms to add an exotic touch.Self-twining stems with glossy evergreen foliage create a wonderful foil for the abundance of simple, five-petalled, highly fragrant flowers all summer. Perfect for containers, borders, trained up a wall, obelisk, maybe near a doorway in order you can fully enjoy the clouds of sweet scent. Native to Asia and southern China, the name Trachelospermum stems from Greek and means Neck Seed, because of the shape of the seeds. An oil often used in perfumery is extracted from the flowers. Known as Star Jasmine, it prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Although being reasonably hardy, Trachelospermum would prefer the warmth of a wall.
