Vigorous and floriferous, Lonicera japonica 'Hall's Prolific' produces clusters of stunning blooms from June to August. A fast growing, twining, bushy climber, each bloom opens crisp white and changes to buttery yellow as it matures.Happily climbing and clambering up a trellis, fence or through a garden framework, it will also create a carpet of lush, green foliage if left to grow along the ground. Just perfect planted near a garden seat or a window so you can fully enjoy the sumptuous scent that is released on warm sunny days. Native to the woodlands of Japan and China, and often used in Chinese medicine to treat disease. The slender, tubular flowers are full of wonder and full of nectar. Much loved by pollinating insects, and hummingbirds, their long beaks fit just perfectly, hence the common name of the plant, Honeysuckle. Lonicera prefer to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade with roots in shade. Growing to a height of approximately 6m, 'Hall's Prolific' is a hardy perennial (H5) that will grow outside all year round with no winter protection required. The semi-evergreen foliage may stay on the plant if the temperature doesn't dip below -15 degrees C.
