Tell Me More...
With its larger flowers and powerful scent Jasminium officinale ‘Clotted Cream’ is a fabulous way to add height and drama to your planting. Reaching a height and spread of up to 4 metres it is perfect for planting against a warm wall, over a sunny pergola or next to an entrance where you can make the most of both its perfume and its oodles of blooms from June to August each year. Foliage is a rich green and held from March to September. Leaves have a simple, yet decorative pinnate form and stems will spread quickly in all directions, so plants make excellent screening for over half of the year. Native to tropical Asia and parts of China, this is a hardy variety which can withstand temperatures down to -15°C or more. Plant Jasminium officinale ‘Clotted Cream’ in moist, well-drained soil of any kind whilst it establishes – after which it becomes more drought tolerant. Position in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect for best results. Foliage will drop over winter and return again the following spring with renewed vigour.
