Throughout July and August, the statuesque, elegant stems of ‘Graceful Dierama Collection’ will gently sway on the summer breezes, shimmering forth with their paper-like calyces trembling for extending animation. Pretty, bell-shaped flowers hang delicately in shades of pink, purple and white – presenting easy access to bees and other pollinators eager for a feast. The elongated, grass-like foliage is held all year round, maturing to form generous clumps up to 60cm wide. Its swishing movement is accompanied by soft and subtle sound for an extra, sensual element in your planting. Just perfect for a prairie-style garden or a focal feature in the borders which is crying out for some upright, architectural structure.
‘Graceful Dierama Collection’ comprises exciting new arrival ‘Pink Rocket’ with it deeply hued, delightful blooms (height 90cm); pulcherrimum ‘Snowbells’ with its snowy white blooms and hints of dusky pink to each throat (height 1.5m); and pulcherrimum ‘Blackbird’ in rich plum tones (height 1.2m). All will spread between 40-60cm to form generous clumps from where the wiry flower stems emerge. Excellent as cut flowers for a vase too.
Plant ‘Graceful Dierama Collection’ in moist, well-drained soil of any type except heavy clay. Locate in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect. A hardy (H4) evergreen perennial which may need some protection if temperatures fall below -5 to -10°C in your garden.
