A South American native which belongs to the ‘Mandevilla’ family. Dipladenia ‘Sundaville Gold’ has finer leaves and smaller blooms, along with bushier growth than many of its cousins. Alongside this, is a beneficial, semi-trailing habit making plants suitable for containers and for baskets from where they will flower prolifically, commencing in June and lasting through to September time. Close up, the buttery, golden flowers radiate warmth, with an egg yellow impact to the centre for exquisite detailing. Reaching a height of around 2 metres these generous vines spread to around 50cm and can be grown as a warm temperate (H1C), evergreen perennial if offered protection in a greenhouse or conservatory in colder weather or treated as an annual bedding plant. Dipladenia ‘Sundaville Gold’ prefers a sand or loam-based soil of any type and once established, is drought tolerant. Position in full sun or partial shade with any aspect other than north facing and you will be rewarded by oodles of blooms set against glossy, evergreen foliage through summer into autumn.
