Part of a series bred for their dwarf stature, Delphinium ‘Magic Fountain Sky Blue White Bee’ seldom requires staking and is an ideal choice for small gardens, containers and exposed locations. Its sturdy spikes are densely packed with pale, powder blue flowers, each with a pearlescent hint of purple and a white ‘bee’ at the centre. ‘Sky Blue White Bee’ is at its most effective grown in groups, creating a bold, dense, almost forest-like swathe of colour. We love seeing this in a soft, pastel colour scheme, jostling for attention amongst other cottage garden favourites such as nepeta, scabious, campanula, and aquilegia. The moment for delphiniums is early to mid-summer, though a second flush of flowering is possible if spent flower spikes are removed as soon as they have finished. For best results plant in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. ‘Sky Blue White Bee’ is hardy to between -10°C and -15°C. All delphiniums benefit from fortnightly feeding throughout the growing season, particularly if there is to be further flowering. A hardy, herbaceous perennial. H: 90cm S: 45cm.
