The flowers of Dazzling Begonia boliviensis Starshine Collection deserve to take centre stage in baskets, containers or at the edge of a raised bed. This will allow the cascading fountains of leaves and flowers to trail up to 10cm over the sides for voluminous interest. Dazzling Begonia boliviensis Starshine Collection comprises Appleblossom with its rich pink, bicoloured tones and dark, glaucous, serrated leaves tinged with red; Orange with rows upon rows of bright orange-red funnel-shaped flowers on strong, arching stems; and Calypso with all the colours of a Jamaican sunset in pinky-orange and yellow. Plants prefer a spot in well-drained soil of any type apart from clay. Ensure they benefit from either sun or partial shade and avoid a north-facing aspect. These are tender, bulbous perennials which many gardeners treat as annuals. They can, however, be stored over winter in a heated greenhouse or conservatory which does not dip below 5C.
